8 a.m.

1st Annual Prescott Daze Geocache Bash

8am to Sunday 4pm. Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt using a hand held GPS device and multi-million dollar military satellites. Log sheets and event rules will be available at Croix Insurance, Prescott Chamber of Commerce and the Great River Road Learning Center (Freedom Park). An informal Geocaching 101 will be at Freedom Park on Saturday from 8am-11am.

Low Rider Car Show

Sponsored by Enrique’s Taco House and located in their parking lot. 3pm to 8pm. Beer garden and music.

3:30 p.m.

Punt, Pass, & Kick

Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. HS football field 3:30pm registration 4:00 contest. Ages 8 to 13 Boys and Girls

6 p.m.

Churchill Hot Dog Eating Contest

6pm at Churchill Liquor/Market. Limited to 20 contestants. 18 years of age or older. Pre-registration required. Free.

7 p.m.

Prescott Daze Street Dance

Front Street along the Riverfront. Gates open at 7pm. Music by “Brat Pack Radio”. 8:00-Midnight. Price is $7.00. No one under 21 will be allowed. Lots of great food. Wear your Prescott Daze Button for a free Souvenir!

Prescott Fire & Rescue Activities at the Fire Hall

(Corner or Flora/Walnut) Beer Garden, Joe’s BBQ Chicken, Raffles, Air Conditioned

Weekend Shuttle Bus FREE

8pm to Midnight - Runs on the 1/2 hour from High School, Fire Hall, Middle School (Orange/Court) and downtown (Orange/Broad).

Open Saturday and Sunday. Public Restrooms. Free brochures and information.

Great River Road Leaning Center (Freedom Park

Center will be open for viewing. Come out and take a breather from the other activities. Free balloons for the kids!

Along the Riverfront on Front Street between the bridges.

Prescott Daze Fishing Contest

Municipal Boat Launch, Mississippi and St Croix. Registration 5:30-7:30am. Contest 7am to noon. Weigh-in and awards promptly at noon. $10.00 per person entry. Button required.

7:30 a.m.

Community Fun Run/Walk

Hosted by the Prescott High School Track Team and the Cross Country Team. 2 mile run/walk and 5K run. Registration 7:30 to 7:50am. 8am start time. Prescott Middle School. Arts/Crafts/Vendors

Broad Street 8am-4pm. Over 50 unique craft, art and food vendor booths will line both sides of Broad Street. Come to enjoy music, shop local vendors handmade creations and products and enjoy many types of food.

Prescott Daze Classic Car Show

Many Classes plus awards and People’s Choice. Winners receive a custom embroidered jacket. Event T-shirt for all entrants. Lots of door prizes. Over 270 cars/trucks. 60’s music provided by “Community” Mike Murphy. Free admission. 8am-3pm on Broad Street. Support the Prescott Public Library by voting for your favorite classic vehicle for People’s Choice Award for $1.00. All proceeds from the voting supports the Prescott Public Library.

Knights of Columbus Breakfast

Located downtown. Coffee,French Toast and Sausage 8-10:30am. Food and beer.

PCR Youth 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Middle School Park (Kinnickinnic & Elm) 9am-2pm. Inflatable’s, Ms. Jaz-ee the Clown, train rides, amazing races, games, food and fun. Kiddy Parade 9am and a Dance Clinic. Concessions will be sold.

Paintball Target Shooting Range - Prescott Sportsman’s Club

Paintball target shooting range at Lion’s Park/Middle School from 9am-2 pm and behind Churchill Market from 3pm-5pm. All equipment will be provided and member’s of the club will be assisting and supervising. PAINTBALL GUNS INSIDE THE CITY LIMIT ARE ILLEGAL. THIS CLUB HAS BEEN GRANTED SPECIAL PERMISSION BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CHIEF OF POLICE.

Prescott Daze Tantalizing Food and Info Booth

Located at Broad and Orange Street downtown 10am-5pm. Featuring deep fried Ellsworth Cheese Curds, brats, pork chops, pound burgers, pop, water and lemonade.

11 a.m.

Bean Bag Toss Tournament

Sponsored by the Sportsman’s Club. 11am behind the Fire Hall. Required pre-registration by calling 651-210-4985

Prescott Historical Society

Go back in time and see the display of the “early 1900’s” Country School House located in the Museum at the Welcome and Heritage Center located by the Clock Tower downtown noon to 4pm. For more information contact Sally West 262-4411.

2008 Prescott Royal Ambassador Coronation

Queen Chelsey Marshall and her 2007 Prescott Royal Ambassador Court will crown the new Miss Prescott and her court on Saturday, September 6th at 3:30 following the afternoon production of “Annie” at the Middle School Gym Stage. Come listen to each girl give a speech about a Latin American Country and answer an impromptu question. Cost $2.00 or $5.00 to watch both play and coronation.

Follow the Prescott High School Marching Band to the Great River Road Learning Center (Freedom Park) and enjoy their encore performance after the parade. Food will be available. Help judge the “best salsa recipe contest” by tasting the contestants entries and voting for your favorite. Winner will be announced at 6pm. Live music in the picnic pavilion 4pm to 6pm. Butterfly Garden Bench Project Dedication at 5pm. Everyone welcome! Come wrap up another fun and eventful Prescott Daze at the park.
